I use No. 3 Bridger's i don't think they are overkill at all. That extra wide jaw spread is great. It lets you have greater play with bedding the trap. If you feel it is too strong leave it as a two coil system instead of modifying it to a four coil.

I have a lot of #3 victors/offset's....also, bridger #3's modified/offset/lam jaws/4 coiled....I like the bridger's in a big stepdown dirt hole.....victors come up better through hay/grass, etc/....I am moving to sleepycreek #4's Long Springs with no offset.....great snow trap and will suffice to catch beaver as well.....I can do more with the long springs in different type sets and the holding power of a long spring is the goal of the progression of the coilspring by folks......in my opinion you just can't beat them

1-3/4 Dukes is what we used this year. Got a couple in #3 Vics but I think it is too big. The 175's worked great. Had most full pads and a couple toe catches. I am going to MOD all the dukes to 4 coil and laminated this year. Dont understand why people dont like the duke traps for yotes?
