It depends on several factors like....for what furbearer? For canines (for the money) I like Sleepy Creek 1.75 offset. They come with a decent baseplate, jaws are bent up slightly on the ends already, center swiveled, (2 swivels factory) offset jaws are wide like forged are, good size pan (but not too big), adjustable pan tension, and pan down stop screws and nuts come free with a dozen traps. They are my pick for "out of the box" coyote and fox traps. By the way, I have not lost any coon with the 3/16 offset jaws either. Paul

Ok my 2 cents I have at least 1 of every modern kind from smallest to the bigest . Most of my line is a Duke trap I know a lot of older trappers don't like Duke and think it is the worst trap on the market . This is why I own a bit of everything to see just what the Diff is in them and really can't see much . But I like the Killer traps 120's on up to the mod 330's and in the foot hold department is the NO#3 or 4 for the flat Tails . Some one said in a earlyer post they like anytrap that catchs animals but if you don't use a good lure or bait well the smell of a trap doesn't bring them in . and key is location location locatiion
